I Dreamt of War

I am trying to deny to myself that I'm concerned and alarmed on what’s happening on the West Philippine Sea specifically on the Panatag Shoal but my subconscious mind betrayed me.

Last Wednesday night or noon (I already forgot as I’m working on night shifts and was on sick leave that day due to upper back pain so I slept twice), I had this dream of war in our country. It was a very clear one.

The setting began on the airport. I’m not sure why we were there. But we were all shocked when one airplane which was on landing mode started going on free fall with smokes on its wings. And then another one followed. It was like a scene in a movie.

Scarborough (Panatag) shoal standoff

As reported, some chinese fishermen who were illegally collecting exotic and endangered species around the contested area were caught by our navy men. As the filipino navy tried to arrest the fishermen, chinese navy vessels intervened and came to their rescue. It also marked the baptism of fire for our newest ship, the BRP Gregorio Del Pilar. Up to now, the standoff continues as diplomatic protests and discussions continue.  As the leaders of the two countries talk, the navy men of both sides tried to kill boredom by watching american idol via satellite tv.

North Korea failed rocket launch
The controversial rocket launch that was supposed to carry an environment monitoring satellite to space crashed to the Yellow Sea near the Korean Peninsula just 5 minutes after it's launch. Many people living along the targetted rocket flight including the Filipinos were happy with what happened. The happiest were the navy men in Scarborough as it didn't fell on to them. But of course, both wished it hit their enemy boat.
