Reversing the Cycle of Appreciation

I always wanted to be recognized.  This could be one of the most basic emotional needs of every person.  To be acknowledged. To be appreciated. Like in this blog, I wanted to be read.

Most of us spend a lot of time chasing some people's attention. But only a few succeeds and most end up feeling empty and unappreciated. It is not that we don’t deserve it. But like most of us, these people are just too busy to notice us. Too busy in trying to please other people so they will be appreciated in return. This makes a very vicious cycle.

U-turn is allowed

So why not try to go on the reverse? By simply turning around, we'll meet those who have always been behind us. These are the people who believe and care for us all this time.  For they may also be just like us who's waiting for someone’s appreciation.   And that someone could be us.  And by reciprocating, we'll both end up happy, thankful and contented.

We are all interconnected in this small world. As we continue this reversed cycle, all lives on earth will possibly be touched. And it probably won't take that long until that person whose appreciation we had been longing for will finally turn around to notice and appreciate us.

So for you who’s reading this, thank you.  Without you I would just be talking to myself.  I value your spent moments visiting this page. And I hope that I’m able to provide value in return of your time.

  1. I guess for me cherish the people who are within your circle and be open for people to come in. Never search for people, they'll come in eventually. Thanks for visiting my blog...:)

  2. I would have to agree with Miss xoxo_grah above. Appreciate the people within your circle. Basta keep the passion burning lang, keep on writing.

It's a lesson for me na rin na dapat, dun sa mga taong nasa likod at tabi natin ifocus yung oras natin kesa maghabol tayo sa iba pa. those people around us and truly loves us are enough. :)

  3. This is one of the random thoughts that crosses my mind when writing blog post. usually, those bloggers who have contents on their posts have less followers. those pro bloggers whose posts are all photos attracts followers.

    1. I see. Well, we can't push people who or which to appreciate. But we can tell ourselves to appreciate the people who appreciate us. Not just in blogging but in real life as well. :)

Masyadong time consuming and then sometimes hindi ka pa papansinin. That is to share what you know without expecting something in return.

  6. The interesting thing is, the closer you are to your true self, and the more you write about stuff that are sincere and comes from somewhere in your heart that matters most to you... the more people appreciate what you do.

Madalas, when we do things with 'gaining appreciation' as the major objective, kabaligtaran ang nangyayari. And minsan pa, the only people who visit you are only those who want you to visit them back.

Anyhow, you're doing something good in the blog. And I appreciate what you do. And yes, you don't have to go to my blog and comment on my posts, I will still read you.

    1. Hi Rae. Salamat. And tama ka, the things that we do from the heart is what's important.

It's not surprising that most of the comments here were all about blogging. Initially, blogging is not my focal point on the subject din naman. It's more on the personal side. I just gave blogging as example para mas makarelate ang ating mga kasama. This post supposedly is more for the real world. :)

  8. this post reminds me of this quote from Will Smith:

"Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like."

keep it up bro :) you have something going here :)

  9. Good work. I found you through Flauntt and I always enjoy reading your posts.
There are lots of people around us who are looking for appreciation. Someitmes it's easier to find fault with others than to see what is good in them and say thanks.
    Stay blessed
